It’s back! Well, almost.

Jeep has officially launched the teaser campaign to relaunch the Wagoneer, following a somewhat cryptic image that was published earlier in the week. We get to see the first details of the highly anticipated SUV, although it’s not clear if we are looking at the regular model or the Grand Wagoneer.

The exterior badge with the American flag is retro-looking, but the interior has a contemporary feel thanks to its stylish start/stop button as well as the infotainment system. Two knobs are visible above the display that allow for easy access to volume control and other functions. Jeep placed the infotainment slightly in front of center console so it doesn’t seem fully integrated.

Jeep has not yet revealed any further details, but we look forward to seeing more information about the Wagoneer in the coming weeks. FCA announced recently that both Wagoneer models would be produced in the second quarter 2021. This likely means they will both be available for purchase by the 2022MY.

According to recent reports, the Grand Wagoneer has a luxurious interior that features plush materials and lots of tech goodies. Expect a fully digital instrument cluster, as well as a 12-inch touchscreen that is frameless, a rearview camera and another display for the front passenger. You can also expect an optional rear-seat entertainment package with additional screens.

Expect an SUV adaptation of the Ram 1500 truck under the skin. It should inherit most of its bits and pieces. Rumours of a plug in hybrid variant with approximately 30 miles (48 km) of electric range and an 8-speed automatic transmission are already common. According to rumors, the PHEV version will arrive one year after the conventionally-powered model.

Jeep may be developing a product for performance and off-road enthusiasts. According to the Wagoneer, it will produce a rugged Mojave version in the same vein of the Gladiator Mojave. The Grand Wagoneer could also offer a spicy Trackhawk flavour. Take this information with a pinch of salt, as it is not official.
