Colorful Electric Crossover
This shape could be in production very soon.
The Kia Habaniro Concept Arrives at New York Auto Show As the brand’s vision of a compact electric crossover that can fit into everyone’s lives. In the model’s announcement, the company explicitly states that it is possible to produce a production version.
To give the Habaniro all-wheel drive, it has electric motors at both the front and rear. Other powertrain information is not available from the company. However, it does state that state-ofthe-art batteries will provide a driving distance of more than 300 miles per charge.
This concept crossover is modern in design. The front ends are dominated by a W-shaped stripe of LEDs. The combination of the Satin Metallic Granite Grey grey grille surround with Snowdrift Pearl White Hood creates a two-tone effect. The concept’s profile is enhanced by a striking diagonal Lava Red accent at the rear pillar. Rear-facing cameras are used to keep the vehicle’s side looking smoother than mirrors. Model looks great off-road thanks to its 20-inch wheels and the short overhangs.
Habaniro Influence:
Although the Habaniro appears to be a three-door vehicle, it actually has four doors that open in a butterfly fashion. The cabin is covered in Lava Red upholstery, with a head-up display that spans the whole width of the windshield. A touchscreen instrument panel allows the driver to control everything. To maximize interior space, drivers can move the steering wheel out of the way when they want the autonomous system to control their car. The Perimeter Ventilation System blows air through the vehicle to keep people comfortable. Ambient LED lighting is available that allows occupants to dim, brighten and change the color.
