After trying to avoid a spike strip and losing control of his car, the fleeing driver crashed into several parked cars.

Tyler Bisson captured shocking footage from the driver’s seat in a 2018 Chevy Silverado L71. It shows a Chevy Cobalt hitting two cars parked on either side of the road. On Sunday, Dale H. Tucker refused permission to pull over the police officer asking him to stop the car in the nearby parking lot. The intersection of Routes 302 in Maine and 35 in Maine was the scene. After about half a mile, the officer stopped following him as the offender continued to drive recklessly at high speeds.

Capt. immediately alerted the local police authorities. Capt. The perpetrator tried to avoid the spike mat but almost failed, puncturing the rear left tire. The Cobalt, out of control, crashed into two vehicles. One was the Buick Park Avenue 2000 Buick. The Buick’s 82-year old driver, Barbara Young, was badly injured and had to be rushed to Portland’s Maine Medical Center. Her passengers Elmer Young (91) and Douglas Young (60) were also seriously injured. Good news is that none the injuries suffered by the three individuals are life-threatening.

Tucker sustained injuries in the accident and was taken into custody. Goulet says that the pursuit was initiated by Tucker’s involvement earlier in the day in a “domestic circumstance”. He now faces multiple charges including speeding, attempting to evade a police officer and reckless driving.

Given the high risk of collisions, it might have not been a good idea to set up a spike strip along a busy road. We are glad that the three-car collision did not result in death.
