More than 140 pedal cars to be sold at auction

Rare pedal cars will be featured at the 100 no reserve Classics sale at Bicester Heritage.

Remember the story about the Brightwells Affordable Classics sale of 100 no reserve cars at Bicester Heritage. There are more classic 140 pedal cars than you might think, and the details have just been published. All of them are available for purchase, with no reserve. They are both beautiful and odd, as we have seen them.

These cars range from tiny vintage Bentleys to pre-war racing vehicles to modern BMW Z4s, and span almost every decade in the past 130 years. Among many other cars, we saw a Sharknose Ferrari as well as a Citroen DS Chapron Decapotable. We can also confirm that AutoClassics staff cannot fit into any of these vehicles (except for the Sinclair C5, which is unlikely to count).

Many of these items are very rare and will be eligible to compete in the Goodwood Revival’s highly contested children’s Settrington Cup pedal-car race. It is rare to find such a large collection at an auction.

Pedal cars were common in the early 1900s, particularly in the areas of automobile manufacturing like America, Britain, and Italy. France. Although the pedal cars were intended for children, they were just as sturdy as full-size pedal cars. They had enamelled steel bodies and opening bonnets and boots. Working brakes, steering and headlights, working brakes, adjustable pedals, and steering and headlights. Some had miniature electric engines.

No reserve pedal car auction will be held alongside the Affordable Classics event hosted at Brightwells, in which 100 rare and low mileage models will be up for sale. All the cars and pedal cars belonged to James Hull, a dentist who sold the collection in 2014 to Jaguar Land Rover.

The majority of the cars have been kept and restored by the company, especially the Jaguars and Land Rovers. It donated 40 cars to StarterMotor to help young apprentices get experience with classic cars. The last 100 cars as well as the 140-odd pedal cars are up for grabs on March 21.
