It could reach speeds of up to 2,297 feet and top speed of 58 mph.
With over 8 million units sold between 1961 and 1992, the Renault 4L was one the most popular products of the automaker. The brand has partnered with TheArsenale, a design firm, to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the 4L. Air4 is now the brand name for this quadcopter.
Renault’s announcement about the Air4 makes modern society sound like a dystopia. The Air4 is the solution. The company states that Air4 is a symbol for independence and freedom. It was born from the realization of traffic congestion, which is making it seem like lives are crashing to a halt and the world above us is unhampered.
Air4’s design is a modernized version of the original Air4. The entire body is made of carbon fiber. The front features LED lights that include vertical DRLs along the sides of grille. The overall lines of the 4L are more soft and curved than those on the smaller, boxy model.
A pair of rotors mount to the extension at each corner of your vehicle and provide propulsion. To allow the pilot to enter the cockpit, the reimagined body has a hinge at the front. According to the company, 90,000 mAh batteries would be used to provide a horizontal top speed of 58 mph (93.6 km/h). The maximum flight height would be 2,297ft (700m).
The Air4 is the ultimate flying car. It allows people to zoom past traffic jams and speeds up. Even though a pilot’s licence is an expensive investment, you won’t be able to land it in the grocery shop parking lot for your weekly shopping.
This is a display car. It is not the intention to build a Renault 4 capable of flying.
From November 29 to December 31, the Air4 will be displayed at the Atelier Renault, Champs Elysees, Paris, France. There will also be important versions of the 4L. The Air4 will also make an appearance in Miami, Florida, New York, New York, and Macau later.
