Nissan has expanded its model lineup with the introduction of the Livina Series in these markets. It now includes the MPV as well as the compact hatchback segment.
South Africa is the next destination for global car sales
The world is being conquered by the Nissan Livina, country by country. The launch of the Grand Livina model in China, also known as Livina Geniss in China, was last November. It was followed by the two-row Livina in April. The Grand Livina was launched in Indonesia in April. Taiwan is following suit. Next month, the Grand Livina and Livina models will go on sale in South Africa.
The Livina series will also be manufactured at Nissan’s various global plants, including in South Africa and Taiwan. The Livina series is powered by either a 1.5-liter or 1.6-liter engine (the Grand Livina offers a 1.8-liter engine). It comes with a four speed automatic of five-speed manual and a six-speed manual.
The ‘global car’ will be introduced in Malaysia and The Philippines later in the year, and then again early next year. They will also be manufactured locally.
