This is for a Touring model that has every option and accessory.
The new Ascent is Subaru’s third-row SUV. Subaru’s biggest new model has 19 cupholders, eight seating, and 260 horsepower (193 Kilowatts). The entry-level Ascent starts from $31,995 (before destination), but the fully loaded Ascent Touring, which includes all of the options and accessories on the online configurator, costs $54,000. This is how the pricing structure works.
All six exterior colors are available as standard. You don’t need to pay extra for shinier colors such as Crimson Red Pearl or Abyss Blue Pearl. Although the Touring trim only offers the Java Brown leather interior, and 20-inch wheels, they are not available. You can also choose from Slate Black and Warm Ivory leather for lower trim levels.
The most expensive accessories are responsible for the largest price rises. The most expensive accessories include the Thule extended cargo carrier (529.95), a trailer hitch (499), a cargo separator (459) and a remote key fob (41). Starlink Entertainment Anywhere package costs $970 and includes two iPads and two Harman Kardon Bluetooth headphones. It also includes two Otterbox iPad cases.
Buyers can purchase accessories and other options worth $8,095.03. The Ascent’s total price is $54,735, which includes $975 delivery and destination charges. It costs more than $10,000 more than the most affordable Touring model and more than $22,000 less than the cheapest.
The Ascent is not as expensive as rivals such the Mazda CX-9 ($32 130) and the Chevrolet Traverse (29,930). It is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine with 260 horsepower (193 kW), torque at 277 pound feet (375 Newton-meters), as well as the ability to tow up to 5,067 pounds (2,267 kg).
