Volkswagen launched the R Line sports package for the Golf Sportsvan in September 2013. It is now available to order.
The German company released photos detailing the extra equipment and announced that the package will start at $1,146 (EUR1,105). A sports exterior R-Line pack can now be fitted to the compact family van. It includes new front and back bumpers, side sill extensions and distinctive air intakes.
The interior will still have a sporty feel, but the price is $2,032 (EUR1,800). R-Line equipment includes Race seat upholstery in San Remo microfiber fabric with inner supports, multifunction leather-trimmed steering wheels with R-Line logo and stainless steel pedals. There are also aluminum front sill plates. Customers can choose from 17-inch Salvador alloy wheels, or 18-inch alloys with three different designs.
The Golf Sportsvan currently offers three petrol and two diesel engines with power ranges from 110 horsepower (81kW) to 150 horsepower (110kW). Depending on the engine, there are six-speed manual, six speed automatic and seven-speed automated gearboxes.
