Also, a quick tour of Honda’s booth.
Officially, the 2021 SEMA Show has been booked. The trade-only, four-day event demonstrated the tuning potential popular cars and showed what automakers can do beyond the dealerships. The next SEMA Show, scheduled for November 1-4, 2022, is actually already planned.
The automaker displayed a wide range of products at this year’s SEMA Show. These included the rugged TrailSport trim which was introduced in the Honda Passport, as well as the most recent version of the 11th-generation Civic. The 2022 Civic Si was displayed side-by-side with the HPD Civic Si Race Car, as seen in the video above.
The Honda Civic Si, the sport-injected trim of the nameplate, has been a symbol for affordable performance. It is a precursor for the Honda Civic Typ R. This model features performance upgrades like an upgraded turbocharged engine, a six-speed stickshift with rev-matching technology, larger brakes, and a lighter single mass flywheel.
Honda Performance Development (HPD) provided a fully-accessorized Civic Si for the 2021 SEMA Show. The accessory set includes a set noir-themed accessories including spoiler, blacked-out wheels and a Honda emblem.
These upgrades can be made track-ready by the Si prototype race car that will also be displayed at the 2021 SEMA Show. Safety equipment such as a roll cage and adjustable suspension with Bilstein dampers and Eibach springs, six-piston brakes and an ECU tune for engine are all included.
The Team Honda Research West Civic Si racecar made its debut at the Honda booth. It will compete in NASA’s 25 Hours of Thunderhill in December. Through a modified suspension, the tune produced 220 horsepower (164 Kilowatts).
