Toyota Biggest Showcase: Three Gnarly trucks in varying flavors at SEMA

These concepts go beyond the limitations of what showrooms have to offer.

The 2021 Specialty Equipment Market Association Show (SEMA Show) is currently underway. Apart from the Toyota Tacozilla which brings back retrolicious Chinook styling to the modern Tacoma model, the Japanese automaker will also be displaying three other truck concepts at this Nevada exhibition.

Two flavors of the third-generation Toyota Tundra are the main occupants, along with an overlapped concept version of Tacoma.

Toyota TRD Desert Chase Tundra

The Toyota TRD Desert Chase Tundra was designed to serve as a support vehicle for offroad racing. It’s capable of supporting off-road racers, but it doesn’t compromise on its capabilities. Marty Schwerter, from Toyota Motorsports Garage, made this concept a reality just in the time to host the 2021 SEMA Show using the 2022 Tundra TRD Pro base vehicle.

The TRD Desert Chase Tundra’s twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 is powered by an i-Force Max twin-turbo engine paired with an electrical motor. TRD has made modifications to the Tundra, including a TRD-designed long travel suspension and widebody kits. Also, Method Race Wheels offers lightweight 18-inch forged aluminum wheels, wrapped in General Tire Grabber X3 all terrain tires.2021 Toyota Tundra Accessories

The 2021 SEMA Show will feature another Tundra, which showcases the production accessories for the new truck. This Tundra comes in Supersonic Red, while the featured accessory, a 3-inch TRD Lift Kit, provides an additional 2.6 inches of ground clearance and increases approach, departure and breakover angles by respectively 5 degrees, 1degree, and 2 degrees.

Additional accessories include a TRD skidplate, TRD cast aluminium running boards, and a bed extender. There are also two swing-out storage containers in the bed. A Tundra bedmat, a Tundra mattress, and a TRD Offroad wheel.

These accessories will be on sale at the dealerships once the 2022 Toyota Tundra goes to market.2021 Toyota Tacoma Overlanding Concept

Toyota will also feature a overlapping concept for its Tacoma in collaboration with Cruiser Outfitters. Toyota’s vision for the ultimate overlanding rig is based on the Tacoma SR5. Aftermarket Modifications include Old Man Emu BP51 adjustable suspension system with Old Man Emu control arms and Dakar leafsprings to the rear suspension.

Other kits include an ARB Summit Combo Bar with Fog Lights, an Expedition One dual-swing rear bumper system and Ultra HD skid plates system, as well as rocker protection/rock sliders. The kit also includes a Yakima roof tent.
