This is a fast lap with a frightening end.

The Lamborghini Huracan Performante has been one of the most thrilling and fastest vehicles in Lamborghini’s history. In just 6 minutes and 52 seconds, it lapped the Nurburgring Nordschleife quicker than the Porsche 918 Spyder. The Huracan Super Trofeo is a great option if you want the Green Hell to be lapped even faster. What was it that took to make the Huracan Super Trofeo go four seconds faster then the road car?

The tuners started with the Super Trofeo racecar and made improvements to almost everything. Twin-turbocharging the engine produced 1,200 horsepower (894 Kilowatts). This was one of the most powerful upgrades. The car weighs in at a mere 2,645 pounds (1.200 kg), and boasts a magic 1:1 power-to weight ratio.

The lap appears to be extremely fast in all sections. The car does what you want, even in slower sections. It isn’t an overpowered vehicle that will try to kill you every chance it gets. The Lambo’s balance of mechanical grip and the 2,645 lbs (1.200 kg) of downforce at maximum speed gives it a relatively stable handling characteristic.

Fredrik Sorlie is a precision stunt driver and is not afraid to get dirty on the track. To show his bravery, the lap was completed at an open track day. He didn’t have to do the Green Hell by himself. Sorlie, being the racing driver that he is, said that if there had been slower traffic, he could have gone a few seconds faster.

The team tried again two days later, but this time the circuit was quieter. The second attempt was successful in most respects, but one of the Pirelli tires failed to perform mid-lap at Kesselchen. It was carrying 136 mph (220 km/h) through the corner. It is a testament to Sorlie’s driving skills that he only brushed the inside wall, saving the car from total wreckage.
