What if Supercar Manufacturers Made Bikes instead of Cars?

It’s not a bad idea.

This fun feature is full of awesome stuff and leaves us wondering a question we should have asked long ago. Why don’t we see superbikes made by supercar companies?

The obvious answer lies in the name: super car. BMW is capable of building some beautiful bikes and the super sedan. A red Honda CBR600RR is a stunning addition to a red NSX. Although it’s not the fastest way to go, it feels like supercars or superbikes are in the same family.

These six unofficial superbike renderings were created by . Each one is inspired by iconic supercars from some of the most renowned supercar manufacturers on the planet. Each rendering is both unique and memorable for a brand. Mostly, anyway.

Let’s see how four-wheeled supercars compare to two-wheeled superbikes.

Pagani

The bare carbon fiber, quad teardrop headlights and a lot of Huayra are the first things we see. You could argue that this is based on the Zonda. However, with only two models in Pagani’s entire History, it’s easy to identify this superbike’s roots. This bike is a true evil.

Aston Martin

It’s difficult to translate Aston Martin’s iconic grille into a two-wheeler, considering its status as a British brand. The Valhalla is the inspiration for this silver superbike. Its headlights, lower fairing and taillights are very Aston-esque. It’s still not the most attractive bike in the bunch.

Lamborghini

This Veneno-based Lamborghini bke could take the best-looking honors. We challenge you to find any other piece of bodywork which is not a curve from the fairing’s tip to the top of your windshield. This superbike is easy to mistake for a Lambo.

McLaren

Similar to the Senna we think this McLaren superbike will be a great performer on the track. It’s also not the most attractive machine, with its forward-facing appearance reminiscent of a teenage with an enormous overbite. It has enough ventilations to keep semi-trucks cool, though the panel that shows the inboard suspension is quite clear. However, it doesn’t feel very comfortable to ride.

Ferrari

The Ferrari motorcycle looks comfortable. Or at least as comfortable as you can get on a superbike. The attractive HTML8 Tributo color combination, which combines aggressive curves with edgy lights and a pointed nose, has us absolutely in love. It would be a great vehicle if it had a smaller 12-cylinder engine that matched its Italian style.

Porsche

Although we don’t know whether we left the best for the last, we did save the most intriguing design for the closing argument. This superbike, inspired by the 918, is a cafe racer with attitude. We love the large bodywork that protects the rider from the elements. And we also love the big, round headlight in this age of razor-edge lighting. A flat-six engine would be a great addition to the silver cladding. It would make this superbike truly Porsche.
