Next February, the Concours-winning masterpiece of pre-war will cross the block in Paris.

Alfa Romeo remains a beloved brand among auto enthusiasts, but it was a different time. This stunning 1939 Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B Touring Berlinetta is a prime example of the car, which was built just before World War II devastated Europe. This era predates Lamborghini or Ferrari. The latter was founded in the same year as this car was built. Alfa was the embodiment of Italian elegance and performance back then. This Pebble Beach CONcours d’Elegance winner may fetch $25 million when it goes up for auction in February. It is for sale.

Understanding the car is key to understanding its value. The original design of the 2900 was based on the 8C 35 Grand Prix vehicle. The production versions featured a 2.9-liter inline-8 engine that displaced 2.9 liters. They were also equipped with a pair superchargers. Although the B model had some modifications in order to improve comfort and reliability, it still delivered remarkable performance in what is arguably the most beautiful body in automotive history.

Only five of these cars were made. It was bought in 1939, and then shipped to England. There were four owners. The current Alfa owner was a father who bought it in 1976. He decided to sell it for unknown reasons. It is possible that the Alfa’s estimated value of $25 million could have something to with it.

This vintage Alfa Romeo is stunning in every way. This prewar model marks the end to a great era in automobile history. This vehicle will be auctioned in Paris by Artcurial Motorcars on February 8. Its well-documented history gives every reason to believe that it could fetch at least $25 million.
