It’s still available for purchase.
2001 was not a good year for the Chevrolet Camaro. In its fourth generation, the sports car was built in just 29,000 units. This was because the automaker decided not to stop production and instead began work on the 35th Anniversary models that commemorate 35 years of Camaro. The fourth-gen Camaro was gradually dying a year prior to its retirement.
This Camaro was made in the Z57 specification. It is correct in its production year, despite the vintage appearance. This Camaro is the fourth-gen Camaro, built with a 1957 Chevy conversion. It’s available for purchase, but that’s another story.
Gateway Classics owns this Camaro and it has a retro-looking body. It is finished in black with blue flames. The ’57 Chevy inspired the body kit, but it is not a copy of a 1950s car. Many design elements were taken from the original series.
The engine is a V8 LS and the mileage clock shows just under 167,000 miles. The engine was recently rebuilt and has only covered 3,000 miles since the reconstruction. A 5.7-liter engine with just over 300 horsepower (224 megawatts) is mated with a four-speed automatic transmission.
It’s not a vintage Camaro, but its underside is a well-equipped one. It has air conditioning, power steering and power windows. There are also leather seats and factory aluminum wheels. The retro-looking sports car is being offered for $32,000 by the seller.
