2007 Shelby GT500 Arrives in Europe, Autobahn Top Speed Run Assists

This run was not suitable for the speedometer.

Shelby was very proud of 2007 and the fifth Ford Mustang. This marked the return of the nameplate, ending the three-decade-long Ford absence. The 2007 Mustang Shelby GT500 was only the beginning. Many owners still enjoy the GT500 nameplate.

The Mustang Shelby GT500 was not available elsewhere in the world, especially in Europe, at the time. Importers were able to bring the super-stang across the pond just like the one shown by YouTube’s AutoTopNL.

This is almost an automatic run, with lots of ponies under it and unrestricted sections on German Autobahn.

The 2007 Shelby GT500’s supercharged 5.4-liter V8 produces 500 horsepower (373 Kilowatts) as well as 480 pound-feet (651 Newton meters) of torque. It can sprint up to 62 mph (100 km/h), and top speed is 155 mph (253 km/h). The Shelby-tuned S-197 Mustang may be heavy, but it still has the power to pull.

Is a car 14 years old still able to reach its maximum speed?

It still works, as you can see from the video. Based on the GPS device used to drive the car, the muscle car was actually able hit 166 mph (267 kilometers/h). This is way more than the speed limit.

Although we aren’t sure if it was a Shelby GT500 tuned car, it was certainly a remarkable run for its age.
