Nissan has introduced Nismo versions of the recently redesigned March (aka micra).
The March Nismo base model has the same 1.2-liter gasoline motor mated with an XTRONIC CVT. While the Nismo S uses a 1.5-liter tuned mill coupled to a five speed manual gearbox, the Nismo S is equipped with a specially tuned 1.5-liter engine. This produces an additional 37 HP (27kW) and 50Nm (37lb-ft), respectively, compared to the 1.2-liter. The total output of the 1.5-liter is 116 HP (85kW) and 156 Nm (135 lbft).
A bespoke exhaust system, a customized suspension and a faster gear change are all part of the Nissan March Nismo S. The body rigidity was also improved. Standard wheels were replaced with 16-inch alloys and Bridgestone Potenza RE-11205/45 R16 tires.
The body kit includes new bumpers, front grilles, side sill protectors as well as red exterior mirrors. It also has LED daytime running lights. There are three exterior colors available from Nissan: Brilliant Silver, Pure Black and Brilliant White Pearl. The interior cabin features an Alcantara-wrapped steering column, 220 km/h speedometer and bucket seats. There is also a custom shift knob, pianoblack trim, special pedals, and bucket seats.
The Nissan March Nismo is already available for order and will be on sale in Japan in December. It is not yet known if the Micra will receive a similar model.
