Audi’s luxury hauler may be able to steer you away form buying an E-Class Estate or a 5 Series Touring.
Audi is not wasting time. Ingolstadt has already introduced the A6 Sedan a month ago and now they are ready to bring out the more practical A6 Avant. The wagon is a better choice than the sedan every day, and twice as often on Sundays. It has everything we love about the sedan plus a larger trunk that can hold all our family’s stuff. This desirable body design is practical and sleek, with a drag coefficient just 0.27 for the entry-level engine.
The luggage compartment can store 565 liters (20 cubic ft) when the rear seats are in place. However, if you need to transport more bulky items, you can lower the 40/20:40-split bench and increase cargo capacity to 1,680 Liters (59.3 cubic ft). The new Avant comes standard with an electric-operated tailgate and luggage compartment cover. A sensor control is available at an additional cost that allows owners to open the tailgate with their fingers.
Audi will add a rail system to enhance practicality. This includes a net, two hooks and a tensioning belt. If you are willing to spend more, the load-securing kits includes a telescopic rod and straps that allow users to make customized sections of trunk.
The cabin’s interior is larger than the A6 Avant and offers more elbow room in front and back, as well as more leg room for passengers seated at the back. This segment has many advantages. The dashboard features dual touchscreens (8.6-inch and 10.6-inch displays), and a 12.3 inch fully digital instrument cluster. This is the exact same dashboard as the A6 Sedan, which has almost everything.
All engines have a mild hybrid system. They can be connected to either a seven-speed S-tronic or an 8-speed tiptronic that is linked to the Quattro all wheel-drive system. The optional sport differential transfers power to the rear wheels when cornering. With the engine off, the advanced coasting function allows luxury wagons to coast at speeds up to 99.4 mph (160 km/h).
There are many ways to raise the price of a 2019 Audi A6 Avant. These include large 21-inch wheels, an S line package and a head-up display.
The Audi A6 Avant will soon be available for purchase, but no information is currently available regarding a launch in the United States. There, the only wagon currently on offer is the A4 Allroad.
