Pebble Beach is the first place where the new roadster dropped its top.
The 2019 BMW Z4 finally arrives at Pebble Beach after a long wait, numerous spy photos and rumors. This is the M40i trim with an inline-six engine in First Edition specification. This model will not actually be in showrooms until the second quarter of 2019, despite its name. The Z4 30i will be available in spring 2019 and the M40i, which is hotter, won’t arrive at dealers until the second quarter.
The M40i trim has a 3.0-liter turbocharged, inline-six engine. It can propel the roadster to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 4.4 seconds. The Z4’s power is not listed in the BMW U.S.-spec press release, however European models are capable of producing 335 horsepower (250 megawatts). It is possible that the American version might be stronger due to the Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure emission test. The First Edition includes a powerful powerplant and adaptive dampers. It also has M Sport brakes and an electronically controlled rear differential. BMW will not reveal all details about the Z4 until September 18, but they will provide information such as the horsepower.
The production Z4 actually looks better than the photos and the First Edition is available in Frozen Orange Metallic. Complex front fascia features a mixture of mesh grilles, inlets and other elements for a sporty look. The iconic brand kidneys run across the nose. Stacked headlights add a modern style to the vehicles. A pair of creased sections are located on each side of the hood to give it a more striking appearance.
The front wheels have gills that pull hot air away at the brakes. The new Z4 switches to a soft-top, unlike the Z4. Five pairs of dual spokes are found on black 19-inch wheels. The trunk’s tip is protected by a ducktail spoiler. Two trapezoidal exhaust outlets are located at the back.
The interior of the Z4 is high-tech with a head up display, digital instrument panel and wide infotainment screen. The central console has buttons that can be used to change the driving mode, shift, or rotary dial to control your infotainment system. The seats are sporty and well-padded with sunburst-pattern seams at the headrest. Harman Kardon Surround Sound stereo allows people to enjoy their music and top-down motoring.
