We test the new Honda Passport in L.A.
The 2019 Honda Passport combines all the key elements of the three-row pilot and applies them to a smaller product with five passengers. The Passport looks like the smaller Pilot, with a shadow of 190.5 inches, six inches less than its larger brother.
The Passport has a reduced rear overhang and an average ground clearance of 8.4 inches, which allows for better approach, departure and breakover angles than the Pilot. The Passport is the Honda’s trail-runner model.
The unibody chassis of the Honda crossover SUV means that it is better to be on-road than off-road. The brand’s 3.5-liter V6 engine is the power source. The Passport can tow up to 5kilo pounds with its bent-six engine, which produces 280 horsepower and 262lb-ft torque.
The standard safety kit includes a forward collision warning, lane departure warning and adaptive cruise control. On higher-end models, convenience features like Apple CarPlay or Android Auto Compatibility can be added.
The 2019 Honda Passport will go on sale in the first quarter of 2019. We expect that the price of the 2019 Honda Passport will be just below $30,000 and a little less than $1,450 than the Pilot’s entry cost.
