A report by Automotive News Europe published last month indicates that Ford will show another crossover today in The Netherlands. ANE claims that the model is believed to be the EcoSport’s new Kuga and bring back the name “Puma”. Ford’s Craiova factory, Romania is where the EcoSport is made is believed to be producing the model.
The yet to be confirmed small crossover will be more expensive than the EcoSport, and will have more equipment than the Escape. Ford used the name “Puma” between 1997 and 2002 to describe a small four-seat coupe that was based on the Fiesta supermini. It was powered by engines developed with Yamaha.
The Kuga/ Escape will be the model’s most important debut, taking into account its global impact. The compact crossover is about to enter its third generation. Multiple spy shots have shown a dramatically different design to the previous model. Recent spy shots showed a prototype with a hybrid powertrain. This means that we know Ford plans to electrify the CUV.
Ford’s 2019 Go Further event will be streamed live here starting at 14:15 GMT/ 10:15 ET. So keep this space open to learn all you can about the new products.
