2021 BFP Retro Ford F-150 adds nostalgia to brand new truck

Ford dealer makes retro-themed pickup with suspension lift.

Beechmont Ford’s retro-infused F-150 was our first encounter about two years ago. We had the chance to drive a nostalgic-filled XLT model equipped with a two-tone wrap. The Ohio-based Ford dealer has since turned its attention towards the Blue Oval’s fourteenth-generation truck, and the end result is a 2021 F-150 looking a bit like the pickups of yore.

The retro conversion used a more well-equipped Lariat. However, you can also choose an XLT or other trim levels. To enhance the off-road feel, the truck rides on 17-inch polished wheels with a retro look. It is wrapped in 35-inch all terrain tires and a 3.5 inch suspension lift.

Beechmont Ford believes the truck looks its best with the factory-chrome package. This is complemented by a chrome bed rack and a set of auxiliary lighting. The F-150 comes with a satin pearl wrap that runs along the sides. However, you can change this for real paint.

According to the dealer, wait times for this truck are longer than usual due to international microchip shortage. They can’t promise a date but they estimate a six-month wait time to receive a BFP RETRO. They will take a $500 deposit and place your order directly with Ford. After your truck arrives, they will perform the BFP RETRO conversion.

For those who prefer a retro-flavored F-150, there are additional customization options. The exact 1980s-inspired configuration was the specification on the previous-generation truck when it was introduced in 2019. The visual nod to the past is probably better for the newer truck and we wonder why Ford hasn’t considered releasing its own package.
