2021 BMW M3 Competition Impresses in Top Speed Run

These lungs are capable of producing more performance than they can handle.

Although the 2021 BMW M3 Competition might not be for everyone, it is a beautiful design. The new twin-turbocharged straight six mill can produce up to 503 horsepower (375kilowatts) or 479 pounds-feet (465 Newton-meters) of torque.

These numbers are much higher than the previous model. The BMW G80 can sprint at 60 miles an hour (97 km per hour) in 3.8 seconds, and electronically clock out at 180 mph (295 km/h).

What is the M3 Competition’s performance in real life? YouTube’s AutoTopNL offers an idea to test this, as usual.

This top speed run sees an M3 Comp in Brooklyn Grey (outside of the BMW Individual Colour Options), sprinting the unrestricted sections of the German Autobahn in an attempt to achieve the claimed numbers. And boy, did the sizzling 3er disappoint.

The video shows that the GPS device was used to record the Bimmer’s 0-100 km/h (62mph) sprint in 3.77 seconds. This is actually faster than the claimed time. Even better, the test showed the M3 Competition go beyond its electronically-limited top speed, clocking in 182 mph (293 km/h) on the GPS and 184 mph (297 km/h) on the speedometer. We find this impressive.

The M3 Competition’s exhaust note was another impressive feature we observed during this top speed run. It’s glorious and eargasmic, making us want to forgive BMW that it used a polarizing front fascia.

We all know that the German marque is very knowledgeable about design and constantly reminds us that no one can please .
