You can also upgrade your brakes.
Although they offer a lot of capabilities, the 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe or Suburban are not high-performance vehicles. According to GM Authority, Chevy Performance offers some parts that will give the SUVs more power.
These pieces include a $625 upgraded air intake for the 5.3 and 6.2-liter V8 engine. It is 13 percent more efficient for the smaller engine, and 17 percent for those with the larger powerplant.
The V8s can also be fitted with a cat-back exhaust. It reduces backpressure and gives the 6.2-liter V8 11 horsepower (8.2 Kilowatts) as well as 6 lb-feet (8.1 Newton-meters). The 5.3-liter V8 produces 7 horsepower (5.2 kW), 4 lb/ft (5.4 Nm) from a single outlet, or 4 hp (2.9 kW) and 2 Lb/ft (2.7 Nm) through the rear dual-exit pipes.
There are also enhanced brakes that can improve stopping power for large SUVs. For $2,895, the kit includes six-piston Brembo brake calipers and Duralife larger rotors in the front. Rear calipers are available in the same color as the front for $575.
Suburbans and Tahoe have made the switch to an independent multi-link rear suspension. This allows for a smoother ride. For a more luxurious ride, Magnetic Ride Control or Air Ride Adaptive Suspension can be used. Buyers can choose from five displays inside, as well as a cluster of digital instruments.
New SUVs can also be equipped with a Duramax turbo-diesel-inline-six engine of 3.0 liters that produces 277 horsepower (207 kW) or 460 lb/ft (623 Nm). The engine is connected to a 10-speed auto gearbox.
The new models are priced at $85,180 in Tahoe and $86465 in Suburban.
