2021 Genesis G80 Identified Before Official Debut

The GV80 is the design inspiration.

Motor1.com reported two weeks ago that the 2021 Genesis G80 sedan would be making its international debut at the Geneva International Motor Show. With the cancellation of the show, Genesis has taken matters into its own hands and displayed the car in full detail on its official Instagram account.

The caption, “stay tuned as the all-new Genesis G80 is unveiled,” was accompanied by the caption. The Korean luxury automaker allowed us to see every angle of the car, even the interior.

These are our first impressions and we love what we see. It is very similar to the GV80 SUV’s design, with the brand’s “two-line” theme that runs throughout the exterior, such as the headlights, character lines, and the car’s body. The massive shield grille is not to be missed. It looks just like the larger G90. The taillights have the same two-line design, completing a nice rear three-quarter angle. The GV80 is beautiful in every way, but the sedan carries the same design language. The new Hyundai Sonata’s side profile has the same elegance, but without the controversial design details.

The interior of the G80 appears to borrow many details from its larger SUV sibling, such as the 14.5-inch landscape touchscreen display and the ash wood trim throughout. The GV80 also has other cues, such as the pressure-sensitive rotary dial at the center console and contrasting colors of leather.

The G80 is based on the GV80 platform. Although Genesis has not yet confirmed any powertrain information, it is likely that the G80 will receive either the 2.5-liter four cylinder or the 3.5-liter V6 from the SUV.

These images were posted by Genesis before the official debut of the car. However, many details like pricing and specifications remain unknown. This early glimpse gives us a great look into the future of Genesis and it looks good.
