2021 GMC Canyon AT4 Get Off-Road Performance Package

You get even more off-road benefits.

GMC has replaced the Canyon All Terrain earlier this month with the Canyon AT4 in the 2021 model year. However, the truck got more than cosmetic improvements. The truck will have an off-road-tuned suspension, and other goodies. However, the AT4 Off Road Performance Edition package was not featured in all the excitement surrounding the AT4’s launch (not pictured). GM Authority has learned about the new kit and its features, but images and pricing information remain unavailable.

To differentiate the AT4 Off-Road Performance Edition package from the regular AT4, it features gloss-black aluminum wheels, a performance exhaust tip, black AT4 badges, and some visual enhancements. Other upgrades include front- and middle-performance skid plates and off-road rocker protector. According to the publication, the package includes all-weather floorliners.

Although it may not seem like enough for a separate package to justify, it adds strength to an already solid off-road foundation. Standard AT4 includes 17-inch wheels with Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac tires and four-wheel drive. The suspension is tuned for off-road use and includes hill descent assistance. An additional skid plate protects your transfer case. An automatic rear locking differential is also available.

The GM’s 3.6-liter naturally-aspirated V6 makes 308 horsepower (373 kW) and 275 poundfeet (373 Newton meters) of torque. The Duramax 2.8-liter turbodiesel is also available. It produces less horsepower (181 hp (135kW), but more torque (360 lb-ft) and has far greater horsepower (373 Newton-meters). The 3.6-liter is paired with an eight-speed auto, while the diesel has six forward gears.

It won’t arrive until 2021 GMC Canyon AT4 for quite some time. GM Authority states that production should begin in the middle part of this year, before going on sale. We will be able to provide more information about pricing as we get closer and closer to truck production.
