2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L priced at $36,995, top trim is $65,290

Upgrade to four-wheel drive costs $2,000

Although Jeep had a solid lineup of SUVs and crossovers that saw it through 2010, it did not have a true three-row model. The 2021 Jeep Grand CherokeeL is a longer GC with more seats in the back. The new SUV will be available in dealerships later this summer, but Jeep has already detailed the pricing. The 2021 GC L will be priced at $36,995, excluding $1,695 destination fee.

The Laredo two-wheel-drive Laredo is the entry-level model. It features the Pentastar V6 engine from the company. You can add four-wheel drive to the Laredo, Altitude, Limited, Overland, Summit trims for $2,000. Altitude is the next trim and starts at $40,195. The Limited comes next at $43,995. V6-powered Overland starts from $52,995, while the V8 version uses the brand’s 5.7-liter V8. The price for the V8-powered Overland is $58,290.

The Summit trim starts at $56,995, which is near the top of this range. The V6 model starts at $56,995, while the V8 is priced at $62,290. Summit Reserve is the top-tier model. It is available only with four-wheel drive. Customers can choose to spend $61,995 on the V6 or $65,290 on the V8.

The V6 is capable of producing 290 horsepower (261 kilowatts) as well as 257 pound-feet (348 Nm) of torque. While the V8 produces 357 HP (266 kW), and 390 lb-528 Nm, the V8 has 357 hp (366 kW). The V6 and V8 models are both compatible with TorqueFlite eight speed automatic gearboxes. The V8 model can tow up to 7,200 pounds (3,265-kilograms) of weight.

The new Grand Cherokee has a longer interior. It features a revamped center console, instrument panel stack and infotainment touchscreen. Available in 8.4 inches and 10.1 inches. The trim determines the materials used inside. For example, the Summit Reserve, which is new for 2021, features open-pore walnut wood covers and hand-wrapped Palermo Leather seats.

There are many standard safety features available on the SUV, including full-speed collision warning and rear cross-path detection, adaptive brake control with stop-and-go, lane-keep assistance, and adaptive cruise control. Optional safety features include Level 2 assisted driving. In the second quarter 2021, the Jeep Grand Cherokee L will be available at dealers.
