Recent information suggests that the hot hatch is using the same 315 horsepower (235-kW), tune as the ArteonR. A dual-clutch gearbox would be available in addition to the manual.

The new Golf R will be available in Europe by the second half of 2021. The new GTI won’t be available in the USA until the 2022 model-year. This means that American customers may have to wait longer to see the more desirable version.
