2022 Acura Integra TypeR Rendered Imagining Revival of FWD Icon

Acura has yet to offer a affordable coupe. Perhaps it is time to offer one once again.

The Honda Civic has a new coupe body style. Instead, it offers a sedan or hatchback. The Sketch Monkey shows you what happens if Acura Integra decides to make a two-door, but brand it as the revived Acura Integra. This would be the Type R model, which is the most expensive.

Sketch Monkey clearly used the new Civic to start this rendering. The nose is the same, but the headlights are shorter. The lower fascia grille is shorter. For a sportier look, the front fenders are longer.

The roofline is more aggressive to create the coupe shape. The doors are wider and The Sketch Monkey adds an additional black trim panel to the back. This takes up some space for the rear side windows.

Fenders are filled with large wheels with complex spoke patterns. Behind them are large discs and red brake calipers.

This imagined Integra Type R was only sketched by the designer from one angle. We can’t see much back. Attached to the rear deck is a small wing.

Honda has confirmed that the new Civic Type R will debut in 2022. Details about the new Civic Type R are very scarce. According to one rumor, the most recent CTR would be Honda’s last model without electrification for Europe. Modified tuning would boost the engine’s power output to 316 horsepower (236 kilowatts).

The Integra has always been an upgrade to the Civic in terms price, quality and power. It was also the first model to introduce Acura in the USA in 1986, along with the Legend.

The Integra Type R is the most well-known. It featured a 1.8-liter four cylinder producing 195 horsepower (145kW) and revving up to 8,500 rpm. The ITR was a front-wheel-drive vehicle that handled well and had the highest specific output.
