2022 Audi RS3 Sedan Hits 62 MPH (100 KM/H), In Just 3.1 Seconds

It is just as fast as the Ferrari Enzo V12 hypercar.

Audi is all about electrification but still has the ability to produce a true-to-God performance car powered by an old-fashioned combustion engine. This new RS3 is almost as fast as the flagship Audi Sport at 62 mph (100 km/h). A compact model can match the performance of a full-fledged, mid-engined supercar with just half the cylinders.

, our long-time friend, was given the opportunity to immortalize the 2022 RS3 Sedan and also test its turbocharged 2.5-liter turbocharged engine in an acceleration test. Although the Four Rings might say that the car takes 3.8 seconds to reach 62 mph (100 km/h), the video taken in beautiful Greece shows that the car is faster than the all-wheel-drive version.

3.1 seconds – That’s the time it took this Python Yellow RS3 for the sprint to be completed, shaving 0.7 seconds compared with the official time. German luxury brands have a reputation for underestimating the performance of their performance cars. However, we didn’t expect such a huge difference in acceleration between the actual and quoted numbers.

The RS3’s performance doesn’t just revolve around straight-line acceleration. However, torque vectoring and a drift function make the RS3 a fun car even when you aren’t on the Autobahn. Although it is based on a front wheel-drive platform, this compact sedan is still tail-happy if you activate the standard RS Torque Rear – the official name of drift mode.

The RS3 is also the fastest production car to lap the Nurburgring. This was partly due to the RS Torque Splitter, which counters the understeer often associated with FWD cars. The smallest RS model of Audi Sport has a powerful 401 hp (500 Nm) and a clever Quattro system that efficiently channels all that power to its wheels.

Spy shots revealed that archrival AMG A45/CLA45 is in the midst of a mid-cycle upgrade. It will be interesting to see if Mercedes can respond to Audi’s new compact rocket. Although the days of ICE performance cars may be over, it is safe to say that gasoline has never been more exciting.
