2022 BMW i4 Revealed with 523 Horsepower and 300 Miles Of Range

If you are able to live with the grille, it’s quite stunning.

The production-ready BMW i4 was launched three months earlier than initially planned. The new BMW i4 electric car is now available, just one year after its namesake. It joins the iX3 & iX SUVs in Bavaria’s growing zero-emission portfolio.

It is very similar to the Concept i4, which was expected given that it was a prototype. It’s very similar to the next generation 4 Series Gran Coupe, as they look almost identical from the outside.

Not only have the rear doors been redesigned, but the side profile was also updated to match the 4 Series Coupe. The i4 has new handles that are flush with the doors for improved airflow. Spy shots show that the 4 Series Gran Coupe will have the same setup for aerodynamic efficiency.

The i4 is distinguished from the 4 Series GC by its aero wheels and blue accents. Also, the redesigned bumpers are distinctive and there is no exhaust tip at the back. The BMW EV looks great from all angles if you can live with its grille. However, the large kidneys might be a problem for some.

BMW is keeping the details of the BMW i4’s technical specs a secret. They only say that it will have up to 523 horsepower (390kilowatts) for the M Performance model. This was confirmed by a four-second sprint to 62 mph (100 km/h). It will also have enough power to go as far as 367 miles (590 km) per WLTP or as far as 300 miles (483 km) per EPA.

We will release additional details in the coming weeks, and images of the interior should be available soon.
