You can also choose from M Carbon bucket seats or new colors.
The 2023 BMW M8 Competition Coupe and Competition Convertible will update the range with new interior tech, M Carbon bucket seats, expanded color options, and optional M Carbon bucket seats. These models are no more available in non-competition versions.
The exterior styling has been slightly updated with the addition of M Shadowline inserts to the LED headlights. These add a dark accent and a subtle change to the lamps.
The M8 models can now be ordered in the new shades Skyscraper Grey and Brooklyn Grey. Frozen Pure Grey and Tanzanite Blue II join the BMW Individual palette.
These vehicles can be ordered with the old-school BMW Motorsport logos as an option on the trunk, hood and wheel centers caps. For those who like the traditional BMW roundel, it is still an option.
Inside, the M8 Competition model’s center infotainment display now measures 12.3 inches instead of 10.25 inches. It is now the same size and shape as the digital instrument cluster.
Optional M Carbon bucket seats are available in the updated lineup. They feature exposed carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic sections, large bolsters, and illuminated M8 badges on the integrated headrests. They can be heated or adjusted electrically.
Carbon seats are upholstered with full merino and Alcantara leather. There are several color options available, including Black and Midrand Beige, Black and Sakhir Orange. These seats can be ordered in black Alcantara. BMW will also add black Alcantara on the dashboard and upper doors.
The M8 Competition models’ powertrain doesn’t change. The M8 Competition models use a 4.4-liter twin turbo V8 that produces 617 horsepower (460 Kilowatts) as well as 553 pound-feet (775 Newton-meters). An eight-speed auto sends power to the all-wheel drive system. This setup allows acceleration of 60 miles per hour (96 km/h) in just 3.0 seconds. With the optional M Driver’s Pack, you can reach speeds of 190 mph (306 km/h).
The production of the M8 Competition range is starting in March 2022. The coupe costs $130,995 after the $995 destination charge; the Gran Coupe costs $130,995 and the convertible $140,495.
