A new color option may be added to the portfolio in 2022.
We reported last week on Chevrolet’s plans for three new color options for its Corvette. Although the automaker did not confirm the news, it appears that it may be planning to replace the colors that are being discontinued.
CorvetteBlogger now has a report that claims to contain information about the new colors in the 2022 model year. The report claims that customers will have two new options and one option that replaces the orange and grey hues of the previous model year.
The information was found on the European Corvette dealer website. Chevrolet will launch the mid-engined ‘Vette on the Old continent in the 2022 model year. It will only be available with the 3LT trim pack. The dealer site displays some of the colors available to European customers. These include the three new colors which should replace the US discontinued colors.
These exterior paints are listed on the website under the following names: Hypersonic Grey Metallic, Caffeine brown Metallic and Amplify Orange Tintcoat. These are the internal names of General Motors. They could be changed once the 2022 Corvette is available for order. All of this is true, however, only if the report accurately reflects reality.
The Corvette will retain its orange and gray color options, but they will be replaced with similar hues. It seems that the brown paint is brand new and will replace the bronze option in the 2020 model year. It shouldn’t be surprising that Chevrolet sold just 548 units in the Zeus Bronze Metallic Corvette. This is 2.69 percent of all 2020 Corvettes.
