2022 Ford Bronco Will Offer Fewer Exterior Color Options and No Green

Velocity Blue and Rapid Red are gone.

After several delays , Ford Bronco production began in June. It’s finally starting to reach customers, but it’s not all sunshine. Ford already looks ahead to the 2022 model-year. Bronco6g.com has leaked a picture that shows what exterior colors will be offered on the off-roader. The palette may look slightly different.

The Bronco appears to be losing three colors, in addition the first year-exclusive Lightning Blue on its First Edition Model. For 2022, Rapid Red, Velocity Blue and Antimatter Blue are all gone. The SUV with Shadow Black and Iconic Silver, Area 51s, Carbonized Grays, Oxford Whites, Race Reds, and Cyber Orange Metallic Tri-Coats is no longer available. The biggest loss is Velocity Blue, which is a standout color among the other darker-shaded options.

A shade Ford announced earlier this year that it would be available for the 2022 Bronco. It is not listed in the color list, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it won’t appear later or on a special-edition model. This is a concerning omission. Ford also was rumored as to be adding Yellowstone, a shade of yellow that is not yet listed. Ford may have reduced the color options to save money as the model has had several delays on its road to production, which has pushed it behind Ford’s schedule.

Ford has not yet announced when it will switch from the 2021 Bronco to 2022, but the Bronco’s delayed production begin likely means that we are still months from seeing the 2022 model on the assembly line. It’s not surprising that the Bronco has a color change. The Rapid Red and Antimatter Blue have identical shades, which will remain until 2022. The Bronco’s supposed green color will be elusive, so we’ll keep an eye out.
