Ford’s compact pickup was introduced last week.
The 2022 Ford Maverick debuts earlier this month. Early indicators suggest that Ford may have a huge success. According to Ford, the compact pickup is packed with useful features and the most recent tech. It also comes at a reasonable price, which has led to 36,000 reservations for the new model.
The nugget was hidden in a Ford Press release on the adjusted EBIT (earnings after interest and taxes) for Q2 2021 by Ford. Ford also highlighted the company’s success in securing reservations for its new models. Ford started with 190,000. Bronco . The company Converted 125,000 of them into actual orders . The Ford F-150 Lightning pulled in 100,000 Reservations Since its introduction, the E-Transit commercial van with all-electric E-Transit has had 20,000 customers.
It will be interesting to see how many of these reservations become Maverick orders. However, if the Bronco is any indicator, there will be plenty of customers willing to pay real cash for the pickup. Although the pickup is priced below $20,000 without the destination fee, it can cost as much as $42,835 when fully loaded. The pickup is priced at $30,000 for a well-equipped model. The standard powertrain, a 2.5-liter hybrid, achieves 40 mpg in the city. The 2.0-liter EcoBoost upgrade is available.
We’re excited to see the 2022 Ford Maverick go on sale in the fall. We hope it doesn’t experience delays like the Bronco, or the continuing chip shortage that continues ravaging the industry. Ford has created something that people want at a price point it has been abandoning over the past few years, as it moved away from cars to more profitable crossovers, trucks and SUVs.
