An optional GT Performance Package is available for the California Special model year changes.
Although the date for the next Mustang is uncertain, Ford continues to improve the S550-generation pony car. The beloved sports car will get a Stealth Edition in 2022. This adds dark accents that give the coupe a sinister appearance.
The visual package is available for the EcoBoost Premium model with 310 horsepower. It includes 19-inch alloy wheels in Ebony Black, along with dark badges, side mirror caps, and dark side mirror caps. Ford also offers a rear wing, clear LED taillamp covers and the Ice White Appearance package. The interior changes are minimal, with the exception of the illuminated sill plates as well as a matte/gloss Black badge for the instrument panel.
The 2022 Ford Mustang EcoBoost Premium Stealth Edition will be available in the following colors: Carbonized Gray (Shade Black), Atlas Blue (Dark Matter), and Atlas Blue (Atlas Blue).
An optional GT Performance Package is available for the California Special. This package adds another important feature to the model year changes. It is available for Mustang GT Premium fastback and convertible models. Track-friendly kits include a larger tubular rear swaybar and heavier-duty front springs. The stability control and electric power steering also get additional tuning.
The California Special ‘Stang comes with the GT Performance Package on 19×9-inch front wheels and 19×9.5-inch back wheels, wrapped in Pirelli summer tires. These extras are in addition to what the CS offers, including the blacked out grille, side racing strips, and rear fender scoop, as a nod towards the original.
Ford will offer the 2022 Mustang California Special with GT Performance Package before the end. It comes with multiple colors: Oxford White; Grabber Blue Metallic; Iconic Silver; Carbonized Gray; Atlas Blue; Dark Matter. Cyber Orange, Shadow Black and Rapid Red.
The new Mustang flavors will be available at dealers by the end of the first quarter 2022. The new model year will not bring a Shelby GT500 Convertible, as Ford explained that the S550’s architecture is at its limits. This could indicate that the Blue Oval is now fully focused upon the next-generation model. Reports say it will be available for 2023. A fully electric Mustang sportscar is expected to go into production in 2028.
