2022 Ford Ranger Launches for Global Markets: Watch The Livestream

Livestream begins Wednesday, November 24th at 2 AM ET/ 7 AM GMT

Ford may seem to be in a rush to get the Ranger into the next generation, considering that the midsize truck was only introduced in the United States in 2019. The T6 model has been in Australia since 2011. It’s time for the truck to be completely redesigned. Today’s reveal will be focused on the global model as the US-spec model is expected to arrive in 2024MY.

The global version of the Ranger will not be limited to just 180 countries. It will also be used as the basis for the next Volkswagen Amarok which will be an international product. The Blue Oval has not shared much information about the new pickup except for a few preview images and spy photos.

The new Ranger will be able to offer a plug in hybrid powertrain as well as a gasoline-powered Raptor, rather than the diesel-powered outgoing model. Side note: The T6-powered high-performance Ford Ranger was not launched in North America. It’s unlikely that it will be available in time for the current model’s life cycle. Our money is on the next generation.

According to our sources, the interior will soon be redesigned to include a large portrait-oriented touchscreen that can be used for infotainment. It will also have a digital instrument cluster that keeps up with modern technology. A surround-view camera, as well as a variety of safety and assistance systems, are all part of the modern tech plan.

We think we know about the 2022 Ranger global models. There will be two diesel engines, one gasoline engine and one PHEV. Ford will likely drop the inline-five, 3.2-liter diesel and replace it with the current Raptor twin-turbo 2.0 liter diesel. There may still be a diesel Raptor on some markets with a larger V6. According to Logic, the EcoBoost power of a possible Ranger Raptor in the US will be used by the Bronco’s 2.7-liter unit.

We’ll have all the details shortly as the livestream begins Wednesday, November 24 at 2 AM ET/ 7 AM GMT. This is not the best time for truck enthusiasts from North America or Europe. However, the reveal will be held in Australia at 6 pm local time.
