Other minor upgrades are also possible.
Genesis was launched in 2005 as Hyundai’s luxury brand to compete with Lexus and Acura. It currently sells cars in South Korea, North America and will soon be offering its products to Europe. All major updates and upgrades are made at the marque’s home markets, which is why the 2022 HTML80 will not be different.
In South Korea, the 2022 model year of the large SUV is set to go on sale in the third quarter. There will be minor modifications. The Korean Car blog says that the 2022 GV80 will come with a more comfortable six-seat configuration. Although there is no official confirmation at this time, our source has a spy image that suggests the six-seater version is ready for market launch.
This new addition to the lineup features a 2+2+2 seating arrangement with more space for second row passengers. They will be able to sit on two separate seats, rather than one bench-type seat. A new large armrest will be available with an integrated touchscreen, as well as other cool features. Two additional screens will be attached to the front seats, offering separate multimedia functions.
The second row of seats, just like other versions of cars, will get an electric power function. This will add to the existing heating and cooling functions. It will be interesting for us to see if these seats get a display-controlled massage feature.
The 2022 GV80 will receive minimal visual changes, new interior colors combinations and upgraded onboard technology. It’s not yet clear if any of these upgrades will be made available to the US market.
