GMC has not yet revealed the new crossover.
In early 2020, we got our first glimpse at the updated GMC Terrain. Photos showed the new crossover in its AT4 variant. It was expected to arrive in 2021, according to GM. The coronavirus pandemic caused General Motors’ to delay several model updates including the Terrain redesign, which was moved to 2022. Although there was a leak, it is yet to be revealed.
GMC’s consumer website advertises GM Rewards credit card with a family picture showing the entire lineup including a Terrain. It’s not the AT4 model, and it looks very similar. However, this Terrain is dressed in the best Denali suit. The 2022 Terrain has the same larger grille as the AT4, but it’s done in chrome, which is a common Denali trim. Terrain Denali features the same stacked front headlights that were spotted on our single test vehicle.
The Denali tradition of chrome is the Terrain. The chrome-finished wheels and chrome side moldings are featured on the crossover, as well as chrome accents in its lower bumper. This contrasts with the AT4, which has a black-finished grille and black wheels. Although the Denali has a slightly more luxurious front bumper, it is still quite impressive.
The Terrain’s powertrain details are still unknown. reports suggest it will offer two engines, the turbocharged 1.5-liter engine and the turbocharged 2.0 liter four-cylinder. The 2.0-liter engine is slightly less powerful than the GMC that was offered in Terrain. It produces 237 horsepower (177 Kilowatts) as well as 258 lb-ft (350 Newton-meters), compared to the 2.5-liter’s 252 hp (188kW) and 260lb-ft (353Nm) of the older model. To find out the details, we’ll need to wait until GMC releases them.
