has challenged the 2022 Honda Civic against its rivals. Now, the Throttlehouse is drag racing the new sedan against its bigger brother, the Accord. Both models feature a 1.5-liter turbocharged engines to even out the odds.

The engines have different displacements. The Civic has 180 horsepower (134 Kilowatts) while the Civic produces 177 pound-feet (248 Newton-meters), of torque. The Accord’s powerplant has 192 hp (13/kW) and 192 lb/ft (266 Nm). Both models have a CVT equipped with paddle shifters that simulate actual gears.

Weight is another factor that distinguishes Civic Touring from other vehicles. The Civic Touring is 3,077 pounds (1.396 kg). The Accord Sport weighs 3,223 pounds (1.462 kilograms). It is only 146 lbs (66.22 kgs) different.

The Accord Sport costs $27,430 plus a $995 destination charge. The Civic Touring costs $28,300 plus $995 destination.
