Even though it is a little larger, the fuel economy is better.
The 2022 Honda Civic Sedan takes the beloved model into its 11th century. According to the company, the new model’s design philosophy is “Man-Maximum Machine-Minimum”, which focuses on simplicity and functionality.
Honda draws inspiration from the designs of previous Civics in order to design the new Civic. The overall shape of the new model is more angular that the previous-gen model. The wheelbase is now 1.4 inches wider and the overall length has increased by 1.3 inches. To emphasize the length at front, the windshield pillars extend further backward. A large greenhouse is created by the low beltline. There are eight color options for the Civic, including three new colors: Meteorite Gray Metallic and Sonic Gray Pearl.
Interior designers are more daring than ever. The dashboard’s honeycomb mesh runs across the width. It is perhaps the most striking feature. It integrates the air vents for a clean, unifying look.
LX, Sport, EX and EX models have a 7.0 inch instrument display that includes a digital speedometer, tachometer, and a separate physical speedometer. These models also come with a 7.0 inch infotainment screen on the top of their dashboards.
The Touring comes with an all-digital instrument cluster that has a 10.2-inch screen. It can display the information with traditional dials and bar graphs. The 9.0-inch infotainment display is the largest in any Honda-brand vehicle. The range-topping model comes with a Bose 12-speaker stereo.
The 2022 Civic’s LX and Sport models get the 2.0-liter four-cylinder with naturally aspirated power. It still produces 158 horsepower (118 Kilowatts) and 138 pounds-feet (297 Newton-meters). The power is sent to the front wheels via a CVT.
EX and Touring receive a 1.5-liter turbocharged four cylinder 180 hp (135 kW) & 177 lb (240 Nm), which are 6 hp (4 kW) & 15 lb (20 Nm) respectively, than the previous-gen Civic. There are improvements to the turbo plumbing and VTEC for exhaust valves. The only option for a gearbox is a CVT.
Honda already has fuel economy estimates for the 2022 Civic:

2022 Civic features an upgraded Honda Sensing safety suite with a single camera, eight sonar sensors and a single camera. This tech includes front and rear false start prevention, traffic jam assistance, and low-speed brake control. These improvements include natural braking with adaptive cruise control and linear steering with the lane-keeping aid.
