It will be available for the model year 2022.
The ongoing dialogue about the Cherokee moniker is still going on, but Jeep’s SUV will soon have a new generation of its three-row model. While the five-seat Grand Cherokee will continue to be available until 2021, a new generation of the three-row SUV will be available for purchase.
The five-passenger vehicle was spotted by us earlier in the month. We were surprised to find that there would be visual tweaks to it compared to the Grand Cherokee L. Kolesa.ru decided not to reveal the camouflage, but to render the design to show the changes.
The five-seat version will have a modified front end, aside from the shorter wheelbase. The attached renderings show that the surrounds of the fog lamps will differ and the lower portion of the bumper will also be modified. Although spy photos indicated that the upper grille may be slightly larger, we are unable to confirm this at the moment.
These renderings show that the two-row model has a different rear pillar, quarter glass and roof. We also see the Grand Cherokee with an LED strip connecting to the taillights. However, we are skeptical as it was not visible on the prototype.
The new-gen Grand Cherokee should look identical underneath. The base 3.6-liter V6 should be available and the optional 5.7-liter H8 will be available. A Grand Cherokee 4xe hybrid is expected to join the lineup at some point during the model’s lifetime. We expect to see the Grand Cherokee five-seat Grand Cherokee within a few months. It won’t be long before we know if this rendering is accurate.
