The Carnival was not a simple minivan when Kia first unveiled it last year. Instead, it chose to use a data-inline The smaller Carnes is not a minivan anymore. We’re told that it’s opening up new classes of Indian recreational vehicles. The fourth-generation model is quite different from the previous models in terms of styling.
The new Kia looks completely different from the model it replaces, as is the case with many of Kia’s bold and innovative designs. Because other body styles can also take styling cues form high-riding models, it’s opting for the crossover look. The Carens’ revamped design language is “Opposites Unified”. It features funky lights at both the front and back, while the sides look more SUV-like than minivan.
You’d be forgiven for thinking that the silhouette is a Sportage with roof rails and plastic body covering on the wheel arches. The Carens has an angled roofline to maximize headroom, while the greenhouse seems to be slightly larger to emphasize the minivan characteristics.
A teaser sketch of the interior has been released by the South Korean brand. It features a large panel that spans the entire width. The interior features a 10.25-inch touchscreen and a digital driver’s screen. A section on the passenger side displays an interesting pattern that will brighten things up.
Separate controls are still available for climate control, located below the central air vents. A wireless charging pad is located in front of the automatic transmission lever. Kia will unveil the Carens in India as a right-hand drive specification, with a familiar steering-wheel design.
According to reports, the revamped compact minivan will be available with six or seven seats. This is not confirmed by Kia. The 1.5-liter gasoline engines and diesel engines will power the Seltos crossover in India. It is not surprising that Hyundai has a new version of the Stargazer, but it is interesting.
