2022 Kia K5 Gets New Badging and GT-Line AWD Premium Package

There are no changes to the motor.

The new Kia is now in its second year of existence, almost 12 months after its US debut. The base LX FWD model costs $23,690, while the GT FWD model starts at $31,090. The lineup gets minor upgrades and a new equipment package.

All 2022 K5s will receive the brand’s latest badging, which was revealed in January. It is located on the sedan’s hood, where it occupies a central spot above the radiator grille. Although the location of the emblem is the same as the first year, its shape and size have changed.

The 2022 model year features include a surround-view monitor and additional wireless chargers. There is also a standard navigation system for GT-Line, EX and GT grades. The GT-Line AWD Premium package is the most significant addition to the lineup. It adds a panoramic sunroof and heated steering wheel as well as LED projection headlights and driver assistance features.

The 2022 model-year models will carry the same engines as 2021. They include an all-turbo lineup and an optional all-wheel drive system. The smaller turbo 1.6-liter has 180 horsepower (134kilowatts) & 195 poundfeet (226 newton-meters), whereas the 2.5 turbo produces 290 hp (128 kW) & 311 lb-422 Nm. The engines can be mated to an eight speed automatic as standard.
