2022 Kia Niro Video Walkaround Shows Bold New Design in The Metal

With its latest designs, the Korean automaker has hit a home run.

The Kia Niro’s debut is the largest launch this week, aside from the global unveil of the next-generation Ford Ranger. This crossover received a major redesign to reflect the changes in vehicle design that Kia has made recently.

Photos already emphasize the Niro’s bold styling. YouTuber Asian Petrolhead gives us a tour of the second generation Kia Niro at its launch at the 2021 Seoul Auto.

The design can be described as radical, regardless of whether you are looking at the EV version and the hybrid Niro. It borrowed a lot from the Kia HabaNiro, mainly the front fascia as well as the quirky body panel between the C- and D pillars. Further cementing their relationship, the Y-spoke rims of the concept can also be seen on the Niro HEV.

The interior of the 2022 Kia Niro was given a major overhaul. This can be seen only in the video walkaround. You’ll be able to see the upgraded execution and features that are often found in pricier cars if you look at the gallery.

The most notable deviation from the original cabin design is the addition of a rotary knob to shift gears. There are also two screens integrated for infotainment and instrument.

This is a design reveal of the 2022 Niro. Although Kia has not yet revealed any technical details about the small crossover, we do know it will come with three powertrain options: hybrid or plug-in hybrid and an EV.

As we get closer to Niro’s market launch next year, we’ll have more information.
