2022 Kia Sportage Realism Renewed After Teaser Photos

It’s definitely original.

On Monday, Kia shared teaser photos of the next-generation Sportage. It didn’t take long before someone rendered the compact crossover faithfully. The fifth generation of Kia’s most-sold vehicle has more interesting styling and unique lights at the rear and front.

Our friends at Gotcha Cars We were kind enough to share several renders of the NQ5 generation Sportage in various hues before Kia’s official unveiling of its new crossover on June 8. The Volkswagen Tiguan rival is easily portrayed by dialing up the brightness and adding some color.

Depending on market, the Sportage will be available in two wheelbase options. The Sportage will be larger, which should allow for a more spacious interior. The huge screen was shown in one of the teasers. However, it appears to be a single-piece design. In reality, it is made up of two displays, each housed in a large glass piece similar to the EEV6 hybrid crossover.

As Kia seeks to keep the Sportage competitive in this highly competitive segment, it is safe to assume that the Sportage will be updated to a new generation. Although technical specifications are not known, the new compact crossover will likely be closely related to the Tucson.

We expect a wide range of powertrain options, including gasoline, diesel, hybrid and plug-in hybrid options, similar to the Hyundai sister model. The Sportage will have a European version for the first time in nearly 30 years. Despite being an aging model, it has been Kia’s most-sold vehicle on the Old Continent this year. It has racked up just under 30,000 sales, or 21 percent more annually.

The sales should begin before the end, first in South Korea and then in North America. Kia also sells a Hyundai ix35-based Sportage Ace in China, where the KX5 plays the role of a localized version of the global Sportage with slightly differing styling.
