2022 Kia Sportage Shows Wild Style In First Real Images

The base model has a small monochrome screen as well as regular AC.

The fifth-generation Sportage is now available in South Korea. Kia has released a gallery with extended photos of the compact crossover. The Hyundai Tucson’s sister has been a subject of controversy since its debut in June. Now is the time to be truthful as actual photos of the NQ5 generation model have been published.

This example in olive green is high-spec and comes with large 19-inch wheels that have a two-tone design. It measures in at 4,660 millimeters (183.4in) and has a wheelbase of 2,755mm (108.4in). This is the global Sportage. The European version of the crossover, which will debut this fall, will have a shorter wheelbase.

The Euro-spec Sportage will have almost the same styling. This should result in a similar front fascia, which some have described as being quite busy. These new images illustrate the differences between LED taillights and headlights, which are more conventional than the simpler clusters with good old bulbs.

New imagery shows how Sportage’s lower trims will look inside, as they have opted to ditch the 12.3-inch dual screen setup found on the top-end models. The touchscreens on the mid-level models will be smaller and accompanied by shortcuts and rotary knobs. While the entry-level model will sport a monochrome display that looks like it was a part of a 1990s car,

The base Sportage has a different trim level than the fancy trims. It now features controls for regular AC, rather than automatic climate control. This screen replaces the horizontal screen that was installed on dual-zone climate settings vehicles. There are fewer settings.

Last note: All images show the KDM spec Sportage. It is possible that not all markets will receive the spartan version. Although it’s difficult to imagine Kia selling the compact crossover in the US without the traditional center screen and AC, we are sure that some would be open to the idea.
