It should be available before the end of this year.
For the 2022 model year, the world will receive a new Land Rover Range Rover. Spy photos show the long-wheelbase and regular versions of the SUVs in testing, but they have always been covered with thick camouflage. We now have a new set of photos that shows the plug-in hybrid luxury SUV. However, the test vehicle has lost some of its camouflage, giving us a clear view of the newly designed grille.
Although the grille seems to be the same shape as the current one inside, the design inside is quite different. It has been replaced by rectangular inserts instead of its oblong ones. It is located below the clamshell-styled hood, which has become a hallmark of the SUV’s design language. However, there’s very little else to see. The warp conceals everything, though some of the cladding is gone. Camouflage is used to disguise the new design and shape of the headlights.
The current PHEV has a turbocharged 2.0 liter four-cylinder paired to an electric motor for a total of 398 horsepower (351 kilowatts), and 472 pound feet (639 Newton-meters), of torque. Land Rover has no plans to change the configuration. However, it may make some adjustments to increase efficiency and output. The entry-level model will be powered by a mild-hybrid straight six powertrain, with the option of PHEV. While the supercharged 5.0-liter Land Rover engine could still be used by the non-hybrid Range Rover, it could also use BMW’s twin turbo 4.4-liter V8.
The 2022 Range Rover interior will provide a luxurious and modern experience for customers – more technology. The interior of Land Rover is revealed in spy shots. This follows the trend of automakers replacing buttons and analog gauges with sheets of glass that can display fancy graphics. The brand’s latest infotainment system will be available, as well as the latest safety features. The 2022 Land Rover Range Rover Sport is expected to make its debut in the second half of this year. It will likely arrive at dealers one year later than the standard model.
