2022 Lincoln Aviator Receives Stealthy, Blacked Out Appearance Package

Do not use chrome accents

With the 2020 model year, the Lincoln Aviator returns to life. This is a rebirth of a nameplate that was only three years old its first time around. Although the prospects for the new Aviator are better than those of its predecessor, Lincoln isn’t taking chances. A new appearance package is available to keep the Aviator fresh in a competitive market segment and deliver what Lincoln clients want.

The new Jet Appearance package is stealthy thanks to its high-gloss, black exterior accents. The package includes a blacked out grille, black roof rails and a black lower fascia insert. It also has black skull caps for side-view mirrors. Black-painted 22-inch wheels are also being resurrected by the SUV. Lincoln extends the body color to the wheel lip moldings and lower cladding.

“Jet Package is a dramatic and clean look that emphasizes the presence of Aviator out on the road,” stated Earl Lucas, Lincoln’s chief designer. “The black accents highlight the strong lines of the exterior design.” Customers can customize their Lincoln with the pack. However, blacked-out accent packs are quite common in the industry. They range from mainstream marquees, to bespoke luxury brand. Customers like uniqueness and automakers love making money.

Lincoln offers the pack in four colors: Pristine white, Infinite black, Silver Radiance and Burgundy Velvet. Aviator’s Jet Apearance Package will be available in the Aviator Reserve trim, but it will not be available to all models. The price for the 2022 Reserve is $57,355 and does not include the $1,095 destination fee. Lincoln will release pricing information closer to the package’s launch. The Aviator was the most highly ranked vehicle that we tested in 2020. It narrowly beat out the Toyota Supra for the top honors. This SUV was chosen for its style, comfort, safety and fuel economy.
