It shows many of the modifications Maserati cannot hide on its test cars.
The new Maserati GranTurismo model is currently in development. However, it appears very similar to the older-generation model. The test vehicles that our spy photographers captured had a full-body camouflage wrap with foam cladding underneath to distort their design. Kolesa.ru opted to remove the covers to show us what the next-gen GranTurismo might look like.
Although the spy shots show that the next-generation car will keep the same overall shape as the last generation, the renderings flatten its curvier bodywork. The headlights look more vertical and the fenders aren’t as bulky as they were before. The brand’s trident emblem is located in front of the slotted grille, which is flanked by two triangular intakes. This rendering changes the side profile by adding a new vent to the fender behind the front wheels. The rear taillights have a slimmer, more sporty shape and sit above a bumper and diffuser that are sporty in appearance.
The renderings don’t reveal the potential powertrains. Maserati isn’t revealing the powertrains that will power the GT. However, the company has plenty of options. The coupe could be powered by the brand’s Nettuno V6 twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter engine. The MC20 produces 621 horsepower (456 kilowatts) while the MC20 produces 538 pound-feet (729 Nms) of torque. However, the company may choose another powertrain.
We do know that the GranTurismo will soon be available in a fully-electric version. This will be the brand’s first EV and could earn the coveted MC Strdale moniker. It is expected to make its debut in 2022, and will be one of few all-electric coupes. Maserati expects to unveil the new 2022 GranTurismo by the end of this year. However, the company has not yet announced a debut date.
