The Carbon Edition starts at $26,400
UPDATE: Mazda has responded to our query about the new Platinum Quartz Metallic color. Motor1.com spoke with a spokesperson who said that Platinum Quartz Metallic is a standard paint option and therefore there is no additional cost.
To give the 2022 Mazda3 a more stylish look, the new Carbon Edition model has been added. A new exterior color option is also available.
The Mazda3 Carbon Edition comes with a Polymetal Gray exterior. This is a shade that has a dark blue hue. The wheels are 18 inches in diameter and have a black finish. The gloss black finish is used for the antenna and heated side mirrors. Red leather upholstery is found inside.
The Carbon Edition includes a Bose 12-speaker stereo system with aluminum speaker grilles, and a three month trial of SiriusXM satellite. The Preferred trim level features include a power moonroof and a memory function to the side mirrors. There is also an eight-way power driver’s seat.
Only the Carbon Edition comes with the Skyactiv G 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. The front wheels are driven by a six speed automatic gearbox. The powerplant produces 186 horsepower (139 Kilowatts) as well as 186 pound-feet (252 Newton-meters) of torque.
Prices start at $26,400 for the sedan and $27,400 respectively for the hatchback.
Platinum Quartz Metallic is the new paint color. This color is available in the S Select, S Preferred and S Premium trims. This color will add an additional cost to the 2022 Mazda3 announcement. Motor1.com reached Mazda for clarification.
The entry-level Skyactiv-G 2.0 liter four-cylinder makes 155 horsepower (116 kW) as well as 150 lbft (200Nm). It connects to a six speed automatic that drives the front wheels. The Skyactiv-G 2.5 liter turbocharged engine with 250 hp (1186 kW) 320 lb-434 Nm and 320lb-ft (434 nm) is also available. It connects to an automatic six-speed transmission and has all-wheel drive.
